When the weather is as hot as it’s been—upwards of 100° F—it’s a small victory to look like anything but a hot, sweaty mess by the end of the day. At a certain point, the only way to combat the heat (besides joining my cats in sitting directly in front of the air conditioner) is to wear a breezy single layer.
The subtle details on this dress, like the buttons down the front, easy pleating, and a tied waist allow it to speak for itself without the need for many accessories. I simply threw on some retro Ray-Bans and walkable metallic shoes for a pulled together, heat-friendly look.
