Product-Empties

I test out a lot of beauty products for work, as I always want to make sure that we only recommend products we truly believe in. But because there’s always something new and interesting to try, it’s hard for me to actually use up the entire contents of a product! When I do finish one, it’s a big deal—and it means I probably have a new addition to my makeup must-haves.

This month I had three empty tubes, or—as the beauty gurus on YouTube call them—”product empties.” (Is anyone else obsessed with watching beauty tutorials and videos?) All three are moisturizing products that have worked wonders on my dry, sensitive skin.

The first is Glossier’s Priming Moisturizer, which was created by the very popular beauty website Into The Gloss. I have to admit: I was a little unsure if these products were going to live up to their hype and cool factor, but I was pleasantly surprised. This moisturizer promises to act like a super-hydrating primer, bringing out the best in your skin while prepping it for a layer of BB cream or foundation. I would have to agree that this is a nice under-makeup base on my skin. It’s also got a light formula that doesn’t leave my face feeling sticky.

Dr. Hauschka’s Rose Day Cream is another cult favorite. Apparently it’s even part of Jennifer Lopez’s routine! I’m always eager to try beauty products with natural ingredients, and this one is just so good. I did feel as though it was gone too quickly, which made it seem a bit expensive. It’s a lot heavier than the Glossier moisturizer, but some days my dry skin really needs that. Using it made me feel really fresh. Now, if only it could make me look just like J. Lo!

The last product is Goe Oil. This stuff is so amazing. I’m addicted to the scent—so much so that I started using the oil as a perfume! It’s really an all-purpose oil that can be used to moisturize the face, hair and body. As with the Dr. Hauschka cream, I used this up way faster than I expected.
