A Fall Makeup Look With Drugstore Products Only

When it comes to beauty products, it’s no secret we love a fabulous budget find, so today Abby is sharing a fun fall makeup look using products from her neighborhood drugstore.

This past summer, I was obsessed with dewy, glowy makeup, but this fall I’m loving a more matte look. However, because I have dry skin, I wanted to make sure the makeup didn’t look dull or cakey, and that it still had a bit of radiance to it. Along with the matte base, I wanted to go for a deep berry lip and a light brown, rose gold smokey eye. I’ll take you through the steps on how I got the look!

drugstore makeup

1. Start with a clean and moisturized face before applying foundation. I’m currently loving Neutrogena Healthy Skin Liquid Makeup SPF 20 (I wear Natural Ivory) because my skin is dry. I also love L’Oréal True Match Super Blendable Makeup, especially for the range in shades. If you have normal-to-oily skin, L’Oréal Paris Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation is awesome as well. I like to use a damp beauty sponge from Real Techniques to get a flawless application.

THE EXTRAS: For extra staying power, use a primer. Try Pixi Flawless Beauty Primer (if you have dry skin) or Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser.

2. To conceal any under-eye circles, blemishes or redness, use Maybelline Face Studio Master Conceal (I use Light/Medium). I think it is a pretty good dupe for MAKE UP FOREVER Full Cover Concealer.

3. Set your under-eye concealer and any other place you may get oily with a translucent powder. I like Maybelline Fit Me! Matte + Poreless.

4. To add warmth to your look, sweep a little bronzer on your face, focusing along the top of your forehead, temples, jaw bone and hollows of your cheek. I like Pixi Natural Contour Powder to do this because it’s matte and super buildable, so you are able to get that exact contour you want. Pixi is fairly pricey for your typical drugstore bronzer, so I also recommend Rimmel Natural Bronzer for a contour as well.

5. Now, choose a blush that gives you a hint of color, but won’t compete with the bold berry lip you will be donning. For powder, I love the e.l.f. Studio Blush Palette in Light because you can customize your blush with different powders. These blushes are highly pigmented so start light and build it up to your preferred color. If you are interested in a cream blush, try NYX in Tea Rose for a subtle rosy hue.

6. Fill in your eyebrows by using the inexpensive and effective e.l.f. Eyebrow Kit (I use Medium).

7. For the eyes, use The Nudes palette by Maybelline. I love all the shades in this palette and decided to just use the matte colors to create a light brown smokey eye (For example, I used the shadow in the top row, third from the left all over the eye, then applied the shadows located on the top row, fifth from the left and bottom row, second from the left). Then on the center of your lid, add L’Oréal Paris Infallible Eye Shadow in Amber Rush for a pretty rose gold shimmer.

8. Use a dark brown eyeliner on your upper and lower eyelids and smudge it out with a brush for a softer line. Try L’Oréal Paris Voluminous Smoldering Eyeliner in Brown.

9. Then, curl lashes and add mascara on the top and bottom lash lines. I am loving L’Oréal Paris Miss Manga Mascara in Blackest Black.

10. Make sure your lips are not too dry. Try adding some ChapStick and then blot it with a tissue. Next, apply Rimmel Lasting Finish By Kate Moss Lipstick in 107 for a gorgeous berry color. I also like Revlon Super Lustrous Crème Lipstick in Black Cherry and Wet n Wild MegaLast Lip Color in Cherry Bomb as alternative shades.

THE EXTRAS: I like to go in with Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer in Radiant under my eyes, down the center of my nose and on my Cupid’s bow to add a little glow. I also set the look with L’Oréal Paris Infallible Pro-Spray & Set. To really get the makeup to look flawless, spray the setting spray on your beauty sponge and work it in all over your face.
